CPLHan Install Guide
Wireless CarPlay for your BYD — install in about 10 minutes.
What you need
- A BYD vehicle with an Android-based DiLink head unit (including older models)
- An iPhone (iOS 14 or newer)
- About 10 minutes
1 Download the app
- On your BYD head unit, open the built-in browser.
- Go to cplhan.com and download carplay-trial.apk.
- If your head unit blocks browser downloads, copy the APK to a USB drive and install it from the file manager.
2 Install on your car
- On the head unit, go to Settings → Security and enable "Install unknown apps".
- Open the downloaded APK and tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app.
During setup, the app may ask for permissions like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and location. Please allow them — they are required for the connection to work. You may also need to enable "Install unknown apps" in your car’s settings.
2.5 Connect to the internet (first time only)
Before opening the app for the first time, make sure either your iPhone or your BYD head unit has an internet connection. You can:
- Turn on your iPhone's personal hotspot and connect the head unit to it, OR
- Connect the head unit to a Wi-Fi network, OR
- Use the car's built-in data connection (if available).
If neither your iPhone nor the head unit has internet, the app may get stuck on the 7-day free trial screen.
3 Connect your iPhone
- Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone.
- Open the app on the car screen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your iPhone.
- The app will connect automatically every time you start the car.
4 Activate your license
- The trial is free for 7 days. You may notice slight lag during the trial — this is normal. After activation, it runs smoothly.

5 HUD / Dashboard (optional)
If your BYD has a HUD (head-up display) or digital instrument cluster, you can enable navigation projection in the app settings:
- Open the app → Settings → HUD / Display.
- Select your HUD or dashboard device.
- Adjust the display area to fit your screen.
HUD and dashboard projection are supported on supported BYD models only. If you do not see this option in your app settings, your car may not be compatible.
Troubleshooting
CarPlay does not appear
- Make sure Bluetooth is on and your iPhone is paired.
- Restart the car head unit and your iPhone, then try again.
- Check that the app is running on the car screen.
Video or audio is laggy
- During the 7-day trial, slight lag is normal. It will be smooth after activation.
- Close other apps on the car head unit.
- Make sure your iPhone has a stable connection.
No sound
- Check the car's audio source is set to the correct input.
- Turn up the volume on both the car and your iPhone.
- Restart the app.
Navigation does not show
- Make sure Apple Maps or Google Maps is installed on your iPhone.
- Open the app on the car screen and select the navigation app from CarPlay.

Q: Will this work on my BYD?
